In December 2020 the Wauchope Chamber celebrated it’s 90th Anniversary!
The organisation is one of the longest standing in our local community and has been at the forefront of many advancements to the Hastings Region. Wauchope Chamber works to provide advocacy, support, connection and opportunities for the Wauchope and Hastings Hinterland business community. We foster a friendly community culture and work to develop a genuine destination identity that embraces the interests of visitors, residents and investment in our local area.
Wauchope has come a long way from its beginnings as ‘the Timbertown’, and is now a thriving, rural township with funky fashion, gorgeous home-wares, modern cafes, and yet still retaining its laid-back charm.
This is the place to experience a genuine working rural town with incredibly passionate locals. Wauchope has a strong and connected community, friendly locals are happy to help you find your way around and it’s a great base for exploring nearby World Heritage rainforest.
The town is set on the Hastings River, surrounded by farms and agriculture, just a few minutes from the Pacific Highway turn-off and located half way between Sydney and Brisbane. It is the gateway to the hinterland with over 40,000 hectares of National Parks and State Forests, one of NSW’s best kept secrets.
In recent times Wauchope has launched the initiative to become “A Motorcycle Friendly Town” embracing the many riders that make the trek between Wauchope and Walcha, a well known must do motorcycle ride.
Wauchope is home to many manufacturing businesses spread across a diverse range of products with many locals well entrenched in exporting their products.
