Saturday the 27th August 2022 marked the return of the Wauchope and Hinterland Business Awards with a Gala Dinner held at the Wauchope RSL Club.
“The Awards celebrate local business, and the night is a tribute to every local business owner and workers who strive to build a better lifestyle for us all.†said Lisa McPherson, Wauchope Chamber Executive Officer.
“The Awards acknowledge the determination and commitment of local business. The night proved a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and thank our business community.†Lisa said.
Thirty-seven announcements were made on the night acknowledging 17 Highly Commended and 20 Winners. The Awards included both local Awards and categories that aligned with Business NSW.
All the Awards were judged by an independent panel from outside the region. Local categories also include a voting element in the scoring process. Over 1,000 people voted for local businesses casting over 1,750 votes.
The BUSINESS NSW aligned applications were streamlined to the regional judging process with a number of local businesses chosen as Finalists for the Regional Awards coming up on the 9th of September 2022.
The night showcased 55 local businesses that had entered the Awards. “There are so many amazing businesses in the region,†said Lisa McPherson.
“There were many comments that people learnt of businesses they were not aware of. We thank every entrant for participating and look forward to more businesses getting involved next year.â€
“Judges mentioned they were delighted to see so many new businesses that had started during covid and how many young people were represented through the Awards this year†Lisa McPherson said.
