The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc invites applications for the position of Program & Event Support Officer.
The role will work closely with the Executive Officer and Wauchope Chamber Board to support, promote and advocate for the local Wauchope and Hinterland Business Community and the wider Hastings region.
This position supports the Wauchope Chamber Executive Officer to deliver on a robust program and events schedule.
The position is a contract role until the 30th June 2023, with flexible hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
- Strong communication skills.
- Good administration skills including data collation and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of small business issues and opportunities.
- An understanding of technology and ability use a range of marketing and event software.
- Experience in the delivery of projects and events.
Desirable:
- An understanding of grants and associated documentation
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, business, marketing, or other relevant area
- Knowledge of national, state, and local issues affecting local business.
Key areas of responsibility are:
- Assist the Executive Officer with the Delivery Chamber Programs and events, along with other projects as required
- Direct and supervise volunteers as required
- Supervise Chamber spaces including the office/ business hub, and gallery space.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication and Information management via a range of media.
- Provide support for stakeholder engagement.
