Executive Officer

Work to promote and support local business in Wauchope and the Hastings. Applications open for the role of Executive Officer. Applications close Fri 18 March 2022.

The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc invites applications for the position of Executive Officer. 

The role works in partnership with the Executive Committee to provide support, promotion and advocacy for the Wauchope and Hinterland business community and the wider Hastings region. The position is required to facilitate the delivery of a robust program and events schedule. The position is a contract role until the 30th June 2023, with flexible hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The successful application will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Strong Project and Events Management skills.
  • Ability to lead a small team environment of staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to build relationships with both internal and internal stakeholders.
  • An understanding of local business issues and opportunities.
  • Ability to managing deadlines and delivering on project outcomes.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage competing demands.
  • Experience with grants and associated documentation and requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare and action documentation including reports, plans and budgets.
  • Experience in using a range of digital tools including the Microsoft Office suite, MYOB, social media channels, etc.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, business, marketing, or other relevant area
  • Knowledge of national, state, and local issues affecting local business.
     

The position will be responsible to:

  • Facilitate a robust program and event schedule.
  • Lead a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Manage the set up and ongoing maintenance of an office, business hub, and gallery space.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • The development and delivery of policy, strategic plans, reporting and other documentation as required.
  • Communication and Information management via a range of media.
  • Grow business engagement across Chamber events and programs, Membership and sponsorship.
  • Prepare and manage grant applications and associated documentation.
