How do you do WHS?
Every business is different. Large or small, no matter your industry, getting people home safe and sound after being in the workplace is the key goal here. While there are certain risks associated with industry sectors, there will also be risks and hazards that are particular to your workplace.
Everyone can do it. Everyone should be doing it. Its all about keeping people safe.

WHS is for everyone
Work Health and Safety is everyone’s responsibility and good communication is key to reducing risks and improving your workplace culture.
Safework NSW have a range of resources to help you on your WHS journey such as the Hazard library A-Z, Codes of practice and the risk Risk radar.
You also have access to practical resources including the Easy to do WHS Toolkit and the Workplace Wellbeing Assessment Tool.
To help you understand how it all comes together under the national WHS framework is the Australian WHS Strategy document.

2023 Wauchope & Hinterland Business Awards
Safework NSW proudly sponsored the 2023 Wauchope & Hinterland Business Awards taking part in the annual celebration of local business. At the Awards Gala Dinner they took to the stage to present an awards recognising local business who are working towards a positive WHS culture in their workplace.
In 2023 the Winner of the Excellence in Work Health and Safety Awards went to Wauchope Rural Store, and the highly Commended went to Omnicare Alliance.
About this project:
In partnership with Safework NSW, Wauchope Chamber’s Eyes on Safety Project aims to:
- raise awareness of the importance of Work Health and Safety in local businesses.
- fosters a positive mindset of WHS.
- profiles businesses doing positive things in WHS as an example to others
- seeks businesses to consider and share how they implement WHS
